What is IPSC?
An introduction to the International Practical Shooting Confederation and its philosophy.
IPSC (the International Practical Shooting Confederation) is the largest international practical shooting federation in the world, organizing competitions and rules for the sport globally.
IPSC's motto is the Latin phrase "Diligentia, Vis, Celeritas" — Accuracy, Power, Speed — which sums up the sport's core philosophy: a shooter must be accurate, effective, and fast at the same time, not just one of the three.
IPSC matches are held as a series of "Stages" — each a simulated scenario with a specific target arrangement that the shooter must complete with maximum accuracy in minimum time.
The sport spans several weapon divisions (Handgun, Rifle, Shotgun, PCC, Mini Rifle) and operates through official national federations in over a hundred countries.
